The key finding of the study conducted by Bradley and his team in the UK on the use of STARTVAC® mastitis vaccine was the reduction in the severity of the mastitis cases:

In late April 2017 HIPRA, in collaboration with DHNP (Daehan New Pharmaceutical) presented STARTVAC® (Polyvalent inactivated vaccine against bovine mastitis) in Korea.

On May 18th-19th, HIPRA has sponsored 2nd Seminar on Coagulase-Negative Staphylococci (CNS) in Ghent, Belgium.

In June 29th, HIPRA organised an HIPRA University course about mastitis in the north of México where the whole team of LALA (Milk Quality Advisors) attended this course. 

HIPRA was in Dublin from 3rd to 7th July for the World Buiatric Congress, in which it was participating as a Premium Partner. During the week, the company offered its customers various exclusive activities under the heading “Move to Vaccination”.

In May 2016 Kyoritsu Seiyaku and HIPRA organized STARTVAC® launching in Japan. Events were organized in 5 different locations across Japanese islands gathering almost 600 vets and professionals. During events well- recognized international Key Opinion Leaders Paolo Moroni (US) and Andrew Bradley (UK) gave presentation about contagious and environmental mastitis with special focus on preventive measures like vaccination.

HIPRA was sponsor of the 25th annual WCABP conference, held in Calgary. For the third year, HIPRA sponsored a Technical Breakfast.On this occasion the invited speaker was Hans Caron, vet practitioner from The Netherlands, who talked about the economic importance of mastitis in dairy farms. About 80 vet practitioners from Western Canada attended the lecture.

On 2 April, the HIPRA was present as gold sponsor at the 5th Annual Conference of the Portuguese Council of Udder Health (CPSU) held in Espinho (Portugal). About 50 veterinarians interested in the quality of milk were present for all over the country.

The event hold in Campinas (Brazil) on 7th of March was a great success, with expert representatives from the most important dairy areas. The Brazilian experts returned to their home countries with a backpack full of fresh knowledge and their colleague’s experience about milk quality and mastitis prevention.

The former study stressed that the economic impact of STARTVAC® in a specific herd depends on the herd’s infection level with S. aureus and management level for udder health, such as milking procedures and culling regime of infected cows.

The observations from dairymen, with herds as far apart as Scotland, Northern Ireland and Cornwall are supporting the benefits of vaccination for mastitis.

Last month of February Dr Paolo Moroni from the Quality Milk Production Service of Cornell University (US) was visiting Turkey in an action addressed to big farms with more than 1,000 milking cows willing to improve milk quality and currently using STARTVAC® as part of their mastitis control plan.
